RPC Roof Consulting was founded by Raymond Crook, a commercial roofing consultant with more than 40 years of experience in commercial roofing systems, forensic roof investigations, roof design, construction administration, and roof asset management throughout the United States.

Ray began his roofing career in 1984 as Roofing Manager for Schraeder Architects, where he developed extensive expertise in roofing design, specifications, and construction administration for commercial and institutional facilities.

​

From 1988 to 2004, Ray managed the State of Nevada Roofing Program, overseeing approximately $5 million annually in roofing projects for state-owned facilities. During his tenure, he managed numerous large-scale reroofing projects, including the complete reroofing of multiple Nevada State Prison facilities under a single contract and the reroofing of the historic Nevada Governor's Mansion.

Between 2004 and 2010, Ray served as Target Corporation's Western Technical Roofing Representative, overseeing roofing quality and construction for approximately 35 new Target stores each year throughout the Western United States. He managed Target's in-house roofing contractors, conducted roof leak investigations and membrane failure analyses on more than 600 Target stores, and served as the lead roofing investigator for Target's 2-million-square-foot distribution center, one of the company's largest and most complex facilities.

Since 2010, Ray has served as the Owner and Principal Consultant of RPC Roof Consulting, providing independent roofing consulting services for commercial building owners, property managers, school districts, government agencies, architects, developers, healthcare facilities, industrial facilities, and Fortune 500 companies across the United States.

One of RPC's most notable forensic investigations involved Tesla's Gigafactory Nevada, a 2-million-square-foot manufacturing facility. Ray was retained to investigate a catastrophic roofing system failure, determine the root cause of the failure, evaluate the performance of the existing roofing assembly, and develop recommendations for repairs, future design improvements, and long-term roofing performance. His independent forensic analysis helped identify contributing factors and provided technical guidance for corrective action on one of the nation's most significant industrial facilities.

 

Ray earned his Certificate of Achievement as a Certified Roof Technologist in 1996 and is a former member of the Roof Consultants Institute (RCI), now known as the International Institute of Building Enclosure Consultants (IIBEC). He also holds a Reno-Sparks Indian Colony Business License for work performed within Tribal Jurisdiction.
